Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1334m

Day 02: Kathmandu [1400m] fly to Lhasa[3660m]
In the morning we will convene at the Kathmandu airport for the spectacular hour long flight to Lhasa. A China Southwest Airlines Boeing 757 will fly us over much for the magnificent Himalayan range providing us with mountain views the entire way. Day 03 : sightseeing around Lhasa
n this second day a guide and interpreter will lead you through several of Lhasa’s many monasteries. The first one we will visit is Sera Monastery, a fifteenth century sprawl of golden roofs and whitewashed walls. This well preserved monastery is located just a few miles North of Lhasa and is home to several hundred monks. In the afternoon we will visit the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, Norbulingka, as well as the Jokhang Temple. This temple is the most revered shrine in all of Tibet and is constantly bustling with devout worshippers. Day 04 Lhasa sightseeing tour
A trip to Tibet would not be complete without experiencing the vital Potala Palace. This palace is Lhasa’s cardinal landmark and is a wonder of Eastern architecture. Your first site of this massive structure will be a magical moment remembered for years to come. It has been a palace since the fifth or sixth century and was once home to the Dalai Lama. This truly amazing day will ended with a visit to the Drepung Monastery. Once the world’s largest monastery, housing 10,000 monks, Drepung monastery lies hidden in rocky ridges just beyond the city. Day 05: Around Lhasa excursion tour
This last day in Lhasa will be one of leisure, exploration, and relaxation. The members of the tour group will have many choices of what to do. Many choose to explore Lhasa further, revisit their favorite monastery, tour additional monasteries, or simply relax around Lhasa. There are many wonderful cafes and shops throughout Lhasa. This is the last chance for acclimatization before we depart so once again we recommend you take it easy. overnight at Lhasa.
Day 06: Lhasa to Gyantse [3950m] 261 km
Today we finally began our overland journey culminating in Kathmandu, Nepal. One of the first sites we will see while traveling along the majestic Friendship Highway is the Khamba La. The breathtaking view at Khamba La allows one to see all the way to the summit of Nazin Kang Sa. Truly an amazing view! While continuing westward we will travel over the Karo La, a high pass surrounded by stupendous glaciers. The rest of the day will be spent enjoying the many magnificent valleys and exquisite Tibetan villages we pass through. The day will end in the town of Gyantse. We will spend the night in a hotel in this historical city.overnight at Gyantse.
Day 07: Gyantse [3950m] - Shigatse [3900m] 90km
First thing in the morning we will visit Gyantse Dzong. This fort dates back to the fourteenth century and offers some of the most amazing views of Gyantse and the surrounding valley. Before leaving we will also visit the famed Gyantse Kumbum. This magnificent tiered structure is the largest stupa in all of Tibet. If the exquisite gold dome is not enough, this stupa is packed with Tibetan sculptures and paintings.
The drive today, only 90 km, takes us to the second largest city in Tibet. Shigatse is a laid back city that provides excellent opportunity for both relaxation and exploration. As a group we will explore the local market and the Tahilhumpo Monastery. Tahilhumpo Monastery is one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet and was able to last through the Cultural Revolution nearly unscathed. It is a great pleasure to spend some time exploring the busy cobbled lanes twisting around these ancient buildings. At night we will relax and rest in the Shigatse Hotel or Shandond Mansion.overnight at Shigatse
Day 08: Shigatse [3900m] Shegar[New Tingri] [4050m] 244km
The views of this desert plateau provide for wondrous entertainment as we travel along the Friendship Highway. This stretch is some of the most spectacular landscape in Tibet. After passing through the small town of Lhatse we will cross Gyatmso La, the highest pass on our journey. The land quickly descends to plains after Gyatmso La. While traveling through the plains we will see many nomadic herders, quiet countryside, and secluded monasteries. The night will be spent in Hotel Quomolongma in Shegar.
Day 09: Shegar[4050m] Rongbuk [5000m] 68km
After leaving Shegar we will travel only a short while before turning off the Friendship Highway. Our four wheel drive vehicles will takes us South towards the main Himalayan range while passing over Pang La. The view from the top of Pang La is truly stunning. One is able to see all the way from Makalu to Shishapangma. In the afternoon we will descend into the Rongbuck valley and Everest will jump quickly into view. This is your first chance to catch a glimpse of this awe-inspiring mountain. overnight at Rongbuk.
Day 10: Rongbuk [5000m] Tingri [4390m] 65km
This morning is the highlight of the trip for many. You are given the opportunity to explore the Everest Base camp. The views of Everest from so close make the mountain seem even more impressive than before. It is a truly breath taking experience to stare up at the sheer North face of this highest mountain in the world. Mount Everest towers above you in a looming yet magical way. After Lunch we will get back on the Friendship highway and continue our amazing journey.overnight at Tingri.
Day 11: Tingri[4390m] Zhangmu[2300m] 181km
Continuing along the Friendship Highway we will leave Tingri and cross the Lalung La and the Shung La, two more incredible passes. The views from these passes are breathtaking once again. While standing on these passes one is surrounded by grandiose mountains such as Shishpangma, Cho Oyu, Gauri Shankar, and many more.
In the afternoon we begin descending from the arid Tibetan plateau to a small town of Zhangmu. Zhangmu is much lower in elevation and as a result is much more lush and green than what we have experienced so far. overnight at Zhangmu
Day 12: Zhangmu [2300m] - Kodari - Kathmandu[1400m] 123km
We will leave Zhangmu in the morning and head to the Nepalese border. The Friendship Bridge lies at the Border of China and Nepal and is only a few kilometers from Zhangmu. It spans the impressive Bhote Koshi River. Sadly we must say goodbye to our Tibetan guide and driver at this point.HJT Nepalese staff will meet you at the immigration Control in Kodari and help with all the reentry formalities. Day 13: Around Kathmandu valley sightseeing
After breakfast, our tour guide will take to for historical monuments sightseeing in kathmandu valley such as Boudhhanath: visit Bodhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa than visitPashupatinath: the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here you see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. Day 02 : Kathmandu - Nyalam
Morning after breakfast leave Kathmandu to commence yatra to Nyalam [3750M]. We reach Friendship Bridge [Nepal – China Boarder] by mini-coach. Walk along for 10 minutes to cross the bridge and there get acquainted with Chinese guide and land cruiser drivers. They will give a brief information regarding the further trip then proceed the journey to Zangmu, where all the immigration and custom formalities are ought to be accomplished. After the accomplishment of all formalities, we proceed to Nyalam. Arrival at Nyalam and overnight stay at guesthouse.
Day 03 : Nylam to Tingri
Our attendants will always be there to help you in case you feel any initial discomfort, which is possibly due to atmospheric pressure. In the evening time, you can go for a quiet walk in the Tingri which is breathtakingly beautiful.
Day 04 : Tingri - Everest Base Camp – Tingri
Today, the day is going to be quite strenuous so get yourself ready physically and mentally. We start by visiting the Everest Base Camp, which very well could be the most anticipated moment of your tour to Tibet. From there trek to the foot of the highest mountain in the world and stand in awe under this giant that seems to have no end. In fact the best time to come here is at sunrise or at sunset as the different hues of the sky gives Everest a mesmerizing look. Return to Tingri where overnight stay is arranged in a comfortable hotel.
Day 05 : Tingri – Xigatse
After a sumptuous breakfast consisting of buttered tea and Amdo dough strips, embark on a journey to Xigatse where you will be directly taken to Shigatse hotel for check in. En-route, visit the Lhatse city and the famous Sakya Monastery which are definitely worth the time you will spend discovering their magnificence. The rest of the day is for your leisure. After having ample of rest, move out into the Xigatse city and explore it at your pace. The city is really a great place for hanging out and shopping. Shop for Silver ornaments and locally made handicrafts, the favorite among the travelers that makes an excellent best memorabilia back home. Night stay will be at the hotel.
Day 06 : Shigatse/ Xigatse - Lhasa
After your breakfast having the best of Tibetan delicacies, we will head towards Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. The distance between the two cities is more than 200 km and it takes more than 6-hrs drive to cover the distance. It is not possible to continue the journey at one stretch itself, so there will be one or two minor halts in between. As you reach Lhasa, you will be taken to one of the finest hotels in the town, Lhasa Hotel. After checking in, it is time for rest. For the evening a special cultural show is organized, there will be dance and music program performed by the local Tibetan folklore. If you please, take a look around in the city and mingle with the locales to learn more about their customs. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07 : Lhasa Sightseeing ( Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street)
Lhasa is the most important city in Tibet and holds lot of places of interest. So it's better to start the trip as early as possible. We will first visit the famous Potala Palace. As grand as one could imagine, Potala Palace is the best example of architectural skills present in Tibet. The external appearance itself will bewitch you to no extent, and the interiors are even better. It takes around 4-5 hrs to cover all the halls and rooms of the palace. From there, you will be taken to Jokhang Temple which is around 3 km to the east of the palace. The Jokhang Temple is famous for statue of Sakyamuni. After completely relishing the beauty of the temple, step out into the Barkhor Street which is the busiest market place in Tibet. Spend some valuable time shopping, as you will get almost everything you require and wish for, on a single street itself. The paintings, especially the Thangka paintings and specially made knives have become the most sold items. In the evening, come back to the hotel for dinner and a good night's sleep.
Day 08 : Lhasa Sightseeing( Includes Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and Norbulingka)
This day as well is set apart for touring inside the Lhasa city. The day begins with your visit to Sera Monastery which is considered to be the representative monastery of the Gelugpa of Tibetan Buddhism. Visit the various halls dedicated to different deities like the Hall of Goddess of Music and Hall of Goddess of Mercy. Then we move on to Drepung Monastery which lies to the west. The best time to see this monastery is when the sun is at its peak, the white walls of the monastery shining like a diamond under the sunlight is a view not to be missed. Last but not the least we move towards Norbulingka palace which was once used as the summer palace by Dalai Lamas. Roam around the park, which has lot of palaces, built by different Dalai Lamas. It is an apt place to hang out and relax along side the locales that come here regularly. As the evening starts giving way to darkness, we return to our soothing home away from home. The hotel will cater you the best Tibetan dinner with number of delicacies like Zanba, Tu Pa and the favorite Highland Barley wine to pamper your stomach and tongue. Head to your room for the last night in Tibet.
Day 09 : Lhasa onward journeys.
